The Punjab authorities lately reshuffled minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal’s portfolio after it was discovered that he had been heading the ‘non-existent’ Division of Administrative Reforms for over twenty months. The event has sparked a social media frenzy, with netizens criticising the Aam Aadmi Get together-led state authorities for its oversight.
As per a Punjab authorities’s Gazette notification launched on 21 February, 2025, Punjab minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal will maintain the portfolio of NRI Affairs solely. Division of Administrative Reforms, which was earlier allotted to Dhaliwal shouldn’t be in existence.
No workers allotted, no conferences held for 20 months
The AAP minister was heading the division of administrative reforms for practically two years, however no workers was allotted to the minister, nor any assembly was held, reported The Tribune citing sources.
Dhaliwal is among the many senior-most ministers within the Punjab Cupboard led by CM Bhagwant Mann.
