Threat-off sentiment dominated Wall Avenue on Friday, with promoting stress in AI-linked names intensifying and pushing know-how shares towards their worst week since April.
By noon in New York, the Nasdaq 100 slumped 1.9%, extending its weekly losses to just about 5%, whereas the S&P 500 fell 1.2%, down roughly 3% for the week.
Investor nervousness over the labor market and the broader economic system worsened after the College of Michigan’s client sentiment index sank to its lowest stage since June 2022.
Notably, the subindex monitoring present financial circumstances dropped to the worst studying on file because the survey started in 1951.
