Air India and Indian Oil Company Restricted (IOCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the availability of Sustainable Aviation Gas (SAF). Beneath the MoU, the Tata Group firm and IOCL have outlined their shared dedication to advertise the adoption of low-carbon fuels in aviation, assist international decarbonisation objectives, and contribute to the transition in the direction of extra sustainable air transport operations.
As a part of its broader technique to attain the IATA Web Zero by 2050 goal and adjust to CORSIA obligations, Air India is actively pursuing initiatives in operational effectivity, low-carbon emissions, and now, SAF, as per the official launch. This MoU marks a major step in increasing its inexperienced aviation portfolio, stated the corporate.
The MoU was signed by Shailesh Dhar, Govt Director (Aviation), Indian Oil and P Balaji, Group Head–GRC and Company Affairs, Air India, within the presence of AS Sahney, Chairman, Indian Oil and Campbell Wilson, CEO & Managing Director, Air India, and different officers.
