Banaskantha Firecracker Godown Accident: PM Modi expresses grief, broadcasts as much as Rs 2 lakh aid

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over a firecracker explosion within the Banaskantha area of Gujarat on Tuesday that claimed 18 lives and left 5 people injured. “Deeply saddened by the lack of lives within the explosion at a firecracker manufacturing facility in Banaskantha, Gujarat. Condolences to those that misplaced their family members. Could the injured recuperate quickly. The native administration is aiding these affected,” PM Modi wrote on microblogging web site X (previously Twitter).

What prompted the incident?

An explosion in a firecracker warehouse reportedly prompted a slab within the constructing to break down within the industrial space close to Deesa city in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister introduced an ex-gratia aid of Rs 2 lakh to the households of the deceased and Rs 50,000 every to the injured.
