The president of NYU’s chapter of the School Republicans, Kaya Walker, stepped down on Monday (February 17) after feedback she made about Barron Trump in an interview with Vainness Honest sparked backlash. Walker described Trump’s presence on campus as that of an “oddity,” saying, “He is kind of like an oddity on campus. He goes to class, he goes dwelling.”
Walker’s remarks had been deemed “inappropriate” by the nationwide management of the School Republicans. In a press release, School Republicans of America condemned the remarks, stating that they did “not align with the values and ideas upheld by our group.”
