The Centre notified the appointment of ten new Excessive Courtroom judges and extra judges on July 22, 2025, as per constitutional provisions and after discussions with the Chief Justice of India.
“In train of the facility conferred by the Structure of India, after session with the Chief Justice of India, the President is happy to nominate the next Excessive Courtroom Judges/Further Judges,” Union Minister of State for Legislation and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal knowledgeable on X.
Appointment of three Supreme Courtroom judges
These appointments come practically two months after the Union authorities introduced the appointment of three new judges to the Supreme Courtroom on 29 Might after the President’s assent to the collegium’s suggestions.
The brand new appointments are NV Anjaria, Chief Justice, Excessive Courtroom of Karnataka; Vijay Bishnoi, Chief Justice, Excessive Courtroom of Gauhati; and AS Chandurkar, Decide, Excessive Courtroom of Bombay, as Judges of the Supreme Courtroom of India, Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced on X.
The Supreme Courtroom will attain its sanctioned power of 34 judges after the appointment of three new judges.
“In train of the powers conferred by the Structure of India, the President, after session with Chief Justice of India, is happy to nominate S/Shri Justices (i) NV Anjaria, Chief Justice, Excessive Courtroom of Karnataka, (ii) Vijay Bishnoi, Chief Justice, Excessive Courtroom of Gauhati and (iii) AS Chandurkar, Decide, Excessive Courtroom of Bombay as Judges of the Supreme Courtroom of India,” Meghwal posted on X.
