Contemporary clashes broke out in West Bengal on Monday over the Waqf (Modification) Invoice as supporters of the Indian Secular Entrance (ISF) clashed with police at Bhangar in South 24 Paraganas.
The clashes erupted on the Basanti Freeway in South 24 Paraganas when police stopped ISF supporters from heading in direction of Ramlila Maidan in central Kolkata to attend an anti-Waqf (Modification) Act rally, in response to a report by Anandabazar Patrika.
The protesters reportedly blocked the Basanti Freeway towards the police’s determination to not allow them to go and take part within the rally, addressed by get together chief and Bhangar MLA Naushad Siddique.
