Lucknow is ready for a significant metro increase with the Union Cupboard approving Section-1B of the town’s Metro venture for Rs 5,801 crore. Introduced by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw after the Cupboard assembly chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on twelfth August, the brand new section will add 11.165 km to the community, connecting Charbagh in East Lucknow to Vasant Kunj within the West.
Scheduled for completion in 5 years, Section-1B will develop the town’s operational metro community to 34 km. The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Company, a three way partnership between the Centre and the state authorities, will implement the venture.
The stretch will characteristic 12 stations — seven underground and 5 elevated. This enchancment will improve connectivity in a few of the metropolis’s oldest and most congested areas. It would hyperlink key business zones like Aminabad, Yahiyaganj, Pandeyganj, and Chowk. Moreover, it is going to join main landmarks corresponding to King George’s Medical College, Bara Imambara, Chota Imambara, Bhool Bhulaiya, Clock Tower, and Rumi Darwaza.
The federal government said that the venture will improve public transportation. Moreover, it is going to stimulate financial exercise, increase tourism, and enhance city mobility for residents and guests.
The prevailing Section-1A of the Lucknow Metro spans 22.87 km from CCS Airport to Munshi Pulia. It consists of 21 stations and has been operational since 2019.
