People of Bombay founder and CEO Karishma Mehta introduced her plans to promote luxurious leather-based objects as she seeks a cruelty-free lifestyle.
Mehta introduced her determination in an Instagram submit. She began by describing how women are conditioned to dream of luxurious items reminiscent of “dream bag,” “dream closet” or “dream footwear.”
“As little women rising up, we’re conditioned to take a look at shiny magazines crammed with lovely photographs of the ideal-looking lady. As we get older, we begin circling our “dream bag” and “dream footwear” and dream of the walk-in closet like in Princess Diaries. It’s nice to dream- I’m the flag bearer of dreaming large, working onerous and smashing each purpose to get there,” Mehta wrote on X.
She questioned that, being a vegetarian, if she doesn’t devour meat, then how can she personal luxurious items made out of animal pores and skin?
“As a vegetarian, I gained’t eat meat as a result of it doesn’t sit proper with me to devour a residing being. How then can it sit effectively with me to partake in a market that prides itself on being “luxurious” by levying their premium-ness on the standard of animal being skinned? It doesn’t,” Mehta wrote.
She shared just a few footage together with the submit. The photographs confirmed her Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Yves Saint Lauren (YSL) assortment and Fendi baggage and footwear.
The founding father of People of Bombay (HOB) has promised to cease shopping for any leather-based items and can promote all of the leather-based items she owns.
“As I’ve arrived on the determination to not solely cease the acquisition of leather-based of any variety, it guts to me use the leather-based that I’ll have already bought.
