Rejecting Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s supply for a ‘impartial’ probe into the Pahalgam terror assault, Congress chief Shashi Tharoor on Sunday hit out on the former, highlighted the “human price of individuals being compelled to return”, and known as the Indus Waters Treaty “extra of a symbolic gesture at this level”.
Whereas speaking to ANI in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, Tharoor stated, “…When the federal government desires to ship a powerful sign that standard relations are now not doable, atypical human beings inevitably turn into the victims… The Indus Water Treaty is extra of a symbolic gesture at this level.”
Tharoor was referring to a slew of measures that the Cupboard Committee on Safety (CCS) has taken following the fear assault in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam district which killed 26 folks and injured a number of others on April 22.
Paying attention to the cross-border linkages of the terrorist assault, the CCS held The Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 in abeyance with fast impact, and cancelled the visas issued to Pakistani nationals beneath the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES), directing them to go away India by April 27.
