Authorities are trying to find three people who had been aboard a small personal aircraft that crashed into the ocean off the central California coast
Emergency responders had been alerted after receiving radar loss alerts and 911 calls from involved residents close to Pacific Grove, native station KSBW-TV reported. Witnesses described listening to a loud plane engine revving adopted by a splash within the water.
Flight particulars
The plane, a Beech 95-B55 Baron twin-engine aircraft, departed from San Carlos Airport at 10:11 p.m. native time. In line with flight monitoring web site FlightAware.com, it was final detected close to Monterey at 10:37 p.m.
Search efforts
A coordinated search effort was launched involving the US Coast Guard, California’s Division of Forestry and Fireplace Safety, and native emergency providers. The crash is believed to have occurred roughly 183 to 274 meters off the Pacific Grove shoreline.
Particles believed to be from the aircraft has reportedly washed ashore, though there was no affirmation but of survivors.
The Nationwide Transportation Security Board (NTSB) will launch an investigation into the crash. The identities of these on board haven’t but been launched.
