President Donald Trump on Friday terminated Joint Chiefs of Employees Gen. CQ Brown Jr., the nation’s highest-ranking army officer, from his place.
Brown Jr.’s dismissal comes amid a wave of administration shakeups as a part of the president’s campaign to reshape the federal authorities.
“I wish to thank Normal Charles ‘CQ’ Brown for his over 40 years of service to our nation, together with as our present Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Employees. He’s a high quality gentleman and an impressive chief, and I want an ideal future for him and his household,” Trump wrote in a publish on Fact Social.
Brown has held the publish since Oct. 2023, after he was nominated by then-President Joe Biden.
Trump mentioned he plans to appoint Air Power Gen. Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine to interchange Brown, calling him “an completed pilot, nationwide safety professional, profitable entrepreneur, and a ‘warfighter’ with vital interagency and particular operations expertise.”
