As many as 18 firms, together with Voltas, MIRC Electronics, Lumax and UNO Minda, with a dedicated funding of Rs 2,299 crore, have been chosen to avail advantages underneath the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for white items sector, an official stated on Monday.
In October final yr, 38 firms had filed purposes with proposed investments of Rs 4,121 crore underneath the scheme within the third spherical.
“Within the third spherical of the net utility window of the PLI scheme , a complete of 38 purposes have been obtained. After reviewing these purposes, the federal government has provisionally chosen 18 new firms. These firms embody 10 producers of parts of Air Conditioners and eight producers of LED Lights, with dedicated funding of Rs 2,299 crore,” the commerce and trade ministry stated.
As well as, it stated, six current PLI beneficiaries have been provisionally chosen to improve to increased funding classes, committing an extra funding of Rs 1,217 crore.
It added that for Air Conditioners, firms will likely be manufacturing parts like compressors, copper tubes, and warmth exchangers amongst others. Equally, for LED Lights, LED chip packaging, drivers, engines, gentle administration methods and metallized movies for capacitors will likely be manufactured in India.
“Altogether, 84 firms underneath the PLI Scheme for White Items are set to deliver investments of Rs 10,478 crore, leading to manufacturing price Rs 1,72,663 crore,” it stated.
