Swedish truck and bus producer Volvo Group has introduced a ₹1,400 crore funding to develop its manufacturing operations in Karnataka.
On 13 February, the corporate signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka authorities to ascertain its fourth world manufacturing hub in Hosakote, Bengaluru.
The settlement was formalized at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s official residence, ‘Cauvery,’ within the presence of Massive and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil. The MoU was signed by Industries Division Principal Secretary S. Selvakumar and Volvo India Managing Director Kamal Bali.
In a media assertion, Volvo Group acknowledged that the brand new facility will generate over 2,000 direct jobs and considerably improve manufacturing capability. With this growth, the Hosakote plant’s annual output is predicted to rise from 3,000 to twenty,000 vehicles and buses, serving each home and worldwide markets.
Talking on the occasion, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasised Volvo’s 25-year legacy in Karnataka and its impression on the state’s transportation sector, notably within the luxurious bus section.
