Lisbon, October 2025: ReSa Architects, a younger Mumbai-based apply based by sisters Shivani Shah and Revati Shah, has been awarded the winners of the fifth version of the Début Award on the Lisbon Structure Triennale 2025 — one of the revered recognitions in world structure.
ReSa was chosen from a global shortlist of 5 rising practices, which included architects from Italy, Thailand, Mexico, and Switzerland. The Début Award celebrates promising younger practices whose work redefines modern architectural discourse by way of innovation and social engagement.
The award ceremony occurred on the eve of the Triennale’s exhibition openings, themed “How Heavy is Mild?”, curated by John Palmesino and Ann-Sofi Rönnskog.
Every of the 5 finalists introduced their work earlier than the announcement, with José Mateus, President of the Lisbon Structure Triennale, presenting the award.
The bodily trophy, designed by Álvaro Siza, Portugal’s most acclaimed dwelling architect, was crafted from marble mud reclaimed from Portuguese quarries — a poetic reflection on transformation and sustainability.
Whereas receiving the award the Indian duo moved the viewers with their phrases on shared authorship and the ability of collective listening. Revati and Shivani Shah mentioned:
“We’re deeply grateful for these works to be recognised. We all know the work carries our title however the authorship for these tasks is extremely decentralized.That is the results of the work of many migrant labourers and different stakeholders of the tasks which have collectively developed this work “

Based in 2020 by Revati and Shivani Shah, ReSa Architects approaches structure as a collective social course of, exploring how space-making can reframe social and bodily relations.
