The federal government is considering amending the Nationwide Highways Act to offer for the return of an acquired land parcel for highways improvement to the unique proprietor in case it stays unused for 5 years, a senior highways ministry official stated on Monday.
The official additional stated that in case land acquired underneath the Nationwide Highways Act has not been used, there isn’t a provision to denotify it underneath the present legislation.
“The modification within the Nationwide Highways Act for denotifying the land will now go to the Cupboard and Parliament,” he added.
