Centre has launched pointers and portal for the Electronics Element Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) to develop a robust element ecosystem by attracting giant investments, each world and home, within the electronics element manufacturing ecosystem. Union Minister for Electronics and Data Expertise Ashwini Vaishnaw launched the rules and portal on April 26.
The Union Cupboard, chaired by Prime Minister, had accepted the Electronics Element Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), which was notified on April 08, 2025.
The scheme goals to develop robust manufacturing capability and capabilities and combine Indian corporations with International Worth Chains (GVCs).
Talking on the launch, Union Minister acknowledged that electronics manufacturing has grown five-fold and exports have grown greater than six-fold, with export CAGR exceeding 20 per cent and manufacturing CAGR over 17 per cent.
He added that cell phones, servers, laptops, and IT {hardware} have seen very robust progress and that the business is poised to take off considerably.
Vaishnaw described ECMS as a horizontal scheme that can help not simply electronics but additionally industrial, energy, car sectors and extra. He emphasised {that a} full ecosystem for electronics manufacturing is coming into place throughout the nation.
Underscoring the significance of innovation and high quality, the Minister mentioned that many corporations have now established design groups, and it’s important that each participant develops such groups.
