The official X (previously Twitter) account of worldwide information company Reuters has been withheld in India following what the platform described as a response to a “authorized demand.”
A message displayed on the account confirmed that “@Reuters has been withheld in IN in response to a authorized demand.”
Nevertheless, a spokesperson for the Authorities of India clarified that no such authorized request has been made to dam Reuters’ account.
The spokesperson added that the federal government is presently working with X to resolve the difficulty.
“There is no such thing as a requirement from the Authorities of India to withhold Reuters, and we’re constantly working with X to resolve the issue,” the spokesperson mentioned.
