The Division for Promotion of Trade and Inner Commerce (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Trade, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hero MotoCorp Restricted to help and scale early-stage startups by way of the ‘Hero For Startups’ innovation accelerator programme.
Underneath the Startup India initiative, DPIIT and Hero MotoCorp will collectively help startups working in future mobility, clear know-how, and deep know-how. They may present chosen startups with unique entry to Hero MotoCorp’s world-class R&D services in Germany and India, its huge seller, provider, and companion community, and skilled mentorship. Shortlisted startups may even work on paid Proofs of Idea (PoCs), serving to them run profitable pilots, acquire market publicity, and speed up innovation progress.
Joint Secretary of DPIIT, Shri Sanjiv, stated the collaboration will strengthen DPIIT’s efforts to empower product-focused startups addressing India’s mobility challenges. He emphasised that connecting business expertise with grassroots innovation will fast-track the journey from idea to real-world affect, particularly in rising applied sciences and Tier 2/3 markets.
Hero MotoCorp’s Government Chairman, Dr. Pawan Munjal, said that the corporate goals to be a nation builder aligned with the imaginative and prescient of Viksit Bharat 2047. He highlighted that India’s vibrant startup ecosystem is essential for constructing a self-reliant and globally aggressive Bharat and reaffirmed Hero MotoCorp’s dedication to nurturing entrepreneurial expertise.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Sumeet Jarangal, Director at DPIIT, and Shri Utkarsh Mishra, World Innovation Portfolio Lead at Hero MotoCorp, within the presence of senior officers from each organisations.
This partnership goals to create new avenues for innovation-led industrial progress, in step with India’s Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat objectives.
