However, MRF Ltd.(down 1.51 per cent), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.46 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(down 1.0 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson Worldwide Ltd.(down 0.68 per cent) and Apollo Tyres Ltd.(down 0.6 per cent) completed as the highest losers of the day.
The Nifty Auto index closed 0.51 per cent up at 21662.65.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 5.8 factors at 22547.55, whereas the BSE Sensex stood up 147.71 factors at 74602.12.
