Tapan Kumar Deka, the chief of Intelligence Bureau (IB), was on Tuesday given one-year extension until June 2026, in keeping with a Personnel Ministry order.
Deka is a 1988-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre.
The Appointments Committee of the Cupboard has accepted the extension in service of Deka because the Director, Intelligence Bureau, for a interval of 1 yr past June 30, 2025, the order mentioned.
